LYF Trains New Babysitters

The Lake Youth Foundation Supersitters course completed training for six newly trained babysitters August 4th at the Community Center.

The two-day course included training in CPR, first aid and safety procedures as well as practical skills such as baby handling, feeding and diapering. The students were required to work their way through various scenarios depicting common problems encountered by new babysitters, and offered time-tested ways of dealing with them. Class members really got into the role-playing and enjoyed portraying troublesome children, busy parents and competent sitters.

Since its inception in 2006, the Youth Foundation’s Supersitters course has trained more than 100 qualified babysitters for Lake of the Woods.
